This Silvester in Florianopolis was nevertheless something disappointing. Florianopolis is the capital of the Federal State Santa Catarina. There one thinks nevertheless that some is the matter. The New Year celebrations take place at the beach along on the main street. 100′000 of people was announced. The fireworks are to take approximately 15 minutes. Besides it should 5 tents imt groups of music to give. The hotels were already for a long time written off. Thus one made oneself calm on a large celebration. But wrongly meant!
At we made ourselves for 18 o’clock on the way and had first times hunger. At the beach along, where the Silvesterfeiern is to take place has it approximately 15 to 20 restaurants, Pizzerias and Churrascarias. But all were closed or closed straight at 18 o’clock few different opened only at 21 o’clock and only for guests with reservation. Even in the large shopping centre the restaurants were closed. Unbelievably for the capital! Then we made ourselves on the way approx.. far away there are 2 km Mc a Donalds. That will probably have opened. In addition, nil return. Also closed, although on the board stood: “Jeden day geoeffnetâ€?. Finally we found nevertheless still another small Chopperia which small Haeppchen anbietete. So we did not have at least hungern. Actually unbelievably. On the day where at most is the matter in the year the restaurants closed.
During we outside with the beer sat drew up then a thunderstorm and it began strongly to rain. But in time, so after 23 o’clock, stopped the rain again. The roads filled more and more. Instead of 5 tents with groups of music there was only one. The volume was not very good, played however nevertheless different style directions. Over then perhaps 10′000 of people was, and not announced midnight like 100′000 of people on the road. The fireworks started in time and not as in Zurich with 20 minutes of intentional delay! But instead of the promised 15 minutes the fireworks took only 3 minutes. The rain is to have destroyed the remainder of the fireworks.
If one knows, and besides in the television saw, how the Silvester was in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Salvador like that was the Silvester in Florianopolis nevertheless very much disappointing! In the mentioned cities there were really very many participants and only best volume from Brazil how: Babado Novo, Ivete Sangalo, Banda Calypso.
Today we discharge now from Florianopolis and drive ourselves with the bus 14 hours into the southernmost place from completely Brazil, into the small town Chui, directly at the border to Uruguay.
