23rd Annual Brazilian Day in New York City 2007 NYSunday, Sept 2nd from 11am-6pm Sixth Ave, 42nd to 56th Street, and 46th Street between 6th and 7th. Since 23 years in Sixth Avenue the celebration of the annual Brazilian Day in Manhatten in New York City NYC will take place. Thousands will party in the 46th Street area, which is known to Manhattanites as Little Brazil. Visitors and homesick Brazilians will attend to sample typical foods from Brazil as local restaurants set shop on the sidewalks offering dishes and appetizers, such as pastel (a fried, stuffed pastry) and coxinha (breaded chicken “thighs”, actually a kind of a poultry croquette). 2006 some 10 million people did attend the Annual Brazilian Day Festival in New York. This year will be on stage 3 big bands from Brazil:
